7. Underwatering
Sometimes it can be confusing to tell if your plants are under or over-watered. Either way, your plants will turn brown and start to wilt. So how can you tell if your plants are lacking that extra H20? The finger test is what is recommended by most gardening sites. Run your fingers 1 or 2 inches into the soil. If the ground is moist, you’re good. If it’s dry, it’s time to water!
8. Improper use of herbicides
Weedkiller sprays can travel through the air or mix with water and flow downstream (in rainy weather), causing unwanted damage to nearby plants or flowers.
9. Forget crop rotation
Crop rotation is important because it prevents the same plants from encountering the same pests or insects that were present during the previous harvest. In addition to this, plant rotation helps renew and restore soil nutrient levels.
